Drupal Ubercart Video Tutorial 1 of 2: Selling Site Memberships
In this Drupal video tutorial, I look at installing and configuring the Ubercart module to sell site memberships. This involves creating a custom role for your Drupal site, configuring Ubercart products to associate memberships with products and configuring some premium content that is only available to paid members to the site using the Views module. In the next Drupal video tutorial, I'll show you which modules to install to restrict access to content types entirely for paid members and set up Ubercart to sell file access to customers.

You would have to enable different countries in ubercart. The internal path would be [your site.com]/admin/store/settings/countries/edit. There you can import other countries.
Hope that helps,

Hi Amirn, good eyes. It wasn't SSL secured because I didn't set up the actual credit card acceptance, I was using a test gateway.

Hi Pete - thanks for the tutorial really helpful - I am trying to set up a membership site for a diary planning and recording site within the UK. Problem that I have is that although I followed the steps shown above my shoping cart and membership etc has a $ sign - I need this is to £ stg
Is this do- able if yes how please and if i need to amend the code can you make it as simple as possible - I am not a prgrammer and have difficulty understanding how / where to edit code.etc
Followed your video up to the point when you introduced the gallery - my plan is that this will take members to another page which will have some planning and recording tools and then on to further menus - My thoughts are that I create a blank page which will have a view added at a later stage to analyse / input the data which they have entered. Am going to try to do this tomorrow but if can't change to Stg will have to abort this approach.
Also whilst I do have path auto have you any idea re .co.uk/?q
Thanks
David

Hi David,
to change the currencies in ubercart, you need to go to [your site]/admin/store/settings/store/edit/format
With regards to the ?q issue, that is a clean urls issue, not pathauto. Make sure clean urls is enabled at [your site]/admin/settings/clean-urls
Hope that helps! Thanks for the feedback,

Hi Egypt,
Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it.
With regards to SSL, it's not a must BUT you definitely should and I'm pretty sure it is part of the standard from Internet Engineering Task Force. When handling credit card information, you want to make absolutely sure that the information in secure both for yourself and your customers. I, for one, would not be comfortable buying anything from an unsecured site. There is also the legal considerations to keep in mind if you do accept credit cards on an unsecured connection and the information is intercepted.
There is an incremental cost for an SSL certificate but I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you buy one.
Hope that helps,
Pete

Hey great tutorial man
I have to develop a paid membership site in drupal 6 and i am happy got over this link.
But the issue which i still have is that how can i get the paid membership role in the create an account section. Like i want the user to select the payment gateway while choosing the role during registeration. Since on the registeration page i have google map enabled to track the latitude and
longitude of the particular user from where it registers so i want the paid membership plan also to work out there.
Is there a module or hack for that??
